wool cats eye

Last week we made cats eyes out of wool and sticks.
This is the materials
you will need
wool
ice block sticks
hot glue gun

Then the steps 
Step1 Glue two popcical sticks together.
Step2 Make a cross in the middle of your stick.
Step3 Then go over the stick once and make a quarter turn and do it again ect.
Step4  keep doing it until it looks good.

And that's how you make a cats eye.

Vincent van gogh

This is my sunflower art work. We had to draw a vase and draw flowers in it. Vincent van gogh is a famous painter he was born on 1853 and died on 1890  at the age of 37. Vincent van gogh was at the age of 27 when he started to paint full time. He looked up to theo van gogh his brother Gauguin his room mate and millent. my art work is two flowers and a vase  

Inspiration linear perspective

Yesterday afternoon room 14 were practicing making 3D cubes. We were doing it in our topic books we had to make one cube at the top one on the line and one on the bottom. It was fun making the cube and also hard. A horizon line is a straight line across your page. The vanishing point is a dot in the middle of the horizon line. Objects get smaller as you go closer to the vanishing point. A one point perspective  is a persons point of view.  
                                                                                                                                                                                   

Buddy Day

This is us working on our Buddy we finished our buddy Steven today. It was really awesome Debbie and I made the hear. I like my buddy he is cool.

Fractions

In maths we have been learning about fractions. I have learnt that pulsing and taking away fraction problems.

Cross Country

We had Cross Country a week ago and me (Titus) came 7th in my race. It was a close
 race. My favorite thing about Cross Country was completing the track. The hardest thing was running it. It was hard. The thing I enjoyed the most was finishing the track.

Dianne Rodger

Last week Dianne Rodger came to talk about her running career at the commonwealth games. Dianne is a mid distant runner and came 4th at the commonwealth games. I learnt that Dianne started running when she was 15. Her husband is a full time athlete at rowing. he as been to heaps of  Olympic games.Dianne is a NZ champion for running.

The old window

The old window all left alone in the dark dark world screaming out for help waiting for someone to come. The poor window is very drunk leaning to one side.

 The window is as dead as a road kill opossum.

 The cursed window is getting clammed by the ivy climbing up it.

 The window has just been hit by a bolder trying to withstand it's balance.

 The dead window is living it's last few seconds to live.

The Death challenge

Thank you all for coming to the death challenges. You all have to go through the obstacle course the grate death Wizard said. I was in line to do the challenge I was so scared and nerves because I might die in this course.321 START!!! the wizard shouted I sprinted off  running to the first obstacle not knowing I soiled my pants. I jumped onto the obstacle called the terrifying tower. Trust me it was very very terrifying it was 50 foot high I was only 9 so it was pretty scary for me. I climbed it to 49 foot but I was to tired and let go. I was falling to my Death...

Our special visitor

last week a special visitor came to our class called...DOUG WILLSON!!!  We were so surprised. He is so cool and he is going to write a story about room 14 :). He gave us some books that he just made  we were the first ones to read it my nick name is going to be Titan.

 

Space Dave

A week ago we went to our school hall. And got a special surprise by a visitor called space Dave. Space Dave is a astronomer he talked lots about space. He told us about black holes, planets, galaxy's and time in space. I learnt

• In 100 billion years another galaxy will crash into our galaxy
• there is no black holes in our galaxy
• the time in space is longer then the time on earth
• there is tiny moons in the middle of Saturn's rings

We had lot's of fun learning about space.

Today room 14 was learning geometry. We were doing it with shapes. What i learnt so far is there is a shape called cuboid. We had to do a shape sheet we had to write the shapes names into the boxes.

My ANZAC Story

 Time to go to war my sergeant yelled into my ear. We were on the boat to Gallipoli. We’re nearly there my brother said. I saw a bullet shot pass my head and into Jack. Looks like Jacks dead I said. We landed on the beach me and my brother jumped out of the boat. We ran up the beach I saw Death bullets shooting people down. I smelt blood pour off my friends. I heard my brother yell... He got shot. i shed a dreadful tear as my brother slowly died. My brother said I regret going to war I whispered so do I. eventually we won the war. The revolting terrifying rats ate the dead corpses as maggots crawled out of their mouths I learnt that war is a bad thing and I never joined it again.

100 word challenge

I was walking home from school I saw a hunted house. Suddenly It turned dark hmm It's only 3.30pm I thought to my self I opened the gate leading to the terrifying house in front of me. I ran to the door as fast as a cheater I opened the creaky door. 16 scary bats flew out super fast aaaarrrr I yelled few it's just bats i sneaked  into the horrid house I saw a bright light it was a.... a ghost aaaarrrr I ran out of the house screaming I don't want to die 3 years latter I found out that the ghost I saw wasn't actually a ghost it was a guy look up can you see a ghost?

Tennis

Today we learnt some new skills in tennis. my favorite part was poke which is you have to try and poke the ball of somebody's tennis racket. I learnt how to throw a tennis ball softly.

My name is Titus I am 9 years old. I am in Room 14 this year and I am a year 5. What I have enjoyed so far this year is my work and getting to know my teacher. My goal for this year is to get higher in maths by learning my times tables 12 and over.
